Hi
This is my first post on this forum.
I own an eastern electric Avant Pre amp , with Belles 350 Ref power amp , driving a pair of Audiophysics Virgo 25.
I think that this preamp is fantastic in my set up .. more music and more emotion .. it's my first valve pre , and compared it only with the ERA YOSHINO 834 .. and the Avant beats it by far and far.
However , I experience a hiss on both speakers ... and I changed the 12AX7 tubes with Raytheon , then Telefunken tubes .. it still persist ..
The other tubes have be changed : 12AU7 JJ paired tube , PSVANe tubes , and the last one , RCA (supposed to drive the XLR)
Is the hissing soming from the 12AUs or the 12AXs or the 6x4 rectifier tube ?
Does the rectifier tube affects the sound ?
The Remote works flawlessly.
Second question is concerning the Gain control .. the input impedence of the Belles is 50000 ohms .. any idea of the ideal position of the gain control .. obviously I noticed the change in the sound while turning the control clockwise , the extreme point being quite a muddy presentation of the sound ..
Thanks , for your views on the forum ..
