  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

adrianc,

The labels fullrangeman is referring to are painted on, correct?  I don't have any tubes with painted labels but I would assume that they don't cause any problems with "overheating".  Do the labels fade or darken when used?

Hi Jake, during normal use,it will take a long long time to make the label fade unless you scrath them or wash them with water,of course they will fade or darken when overheated, here are some photos to show how they changed

The third one has been scrath and the fourth one already fade out due to overheated.
I think Fullrangeman is referring to the label.

Hi adrianc and all Audio Circle members.
If those nice labels (Especially the Marconi one)
have been pasted on the base,
they would still look new today,
don't you thionk so?

Hi Guy,I agree with you the label will last longer if stick on the base but I think they looks much better on the glass :)

RFT 6V6 1953. These have an interesting construction. A shiny metal plate with 3 holes round filament and grid with gray plates on each side. The mica is ceramic. Anyone have experience of them?

The first image seems a red Marconi paint label.
The second image may be a orange paper label.
This is correct??

They both are stickers, not painted, color different due to camera flash,
