No,Ericus, this is what the title (Let's see your tubes) is.

The title is referring to amp pics.  See the first 11 pages of posts.

Hi, adrianc, and welcome to AC and the Tube-O-Phile Circle!  Your pictures stay.  This is the "Show Us Your Tubes" thread not the Show Us Your Amps or whatever thread.

Sure it's pretty to have pics of the bottles glowing but you have a nice stash there and it's cool to show it off.  I'll have to get out my stash and take pics and post them as well.

Holy Crap, Gary!  What was that monster tube (17 inches tall, right?) originally used for?

I've been very curious about Eimac tubes for audio.  Let us know how they sound.

I'm not l sure what they were used for. I would imagine radio transmitters maybe. All of the ones I have are marked US Navy.
I'll get around 100+ watts from it in SE mode.
The Eimac tubes do sound pretty good if implemented correctly. Some years ago I did an amp with a pair of 4-65's, it sounded very good. They seem to like high B+ voltages and most folks won't mess with it at all.
I have the 4-400 project and a 4-125 project and even a very hi power amp using 4CX250's in push pull mode
All push-pull amps and very high power. I have everything, but time to build them. I have some 3-500Z's and some 4-1000's but they are impratical in audio.

adrianc,

Cool stuff, keep it coming.  Is that a Leak TL-20 behind the Stereo 20 (complete with GEC KT66 grey glass output tubes)?  I have a Stereo 50 in my equipment larder.
What are the grey hammertone boxes just outboard of the equipment rack?

Gary,

Amazing stuff.  Aren't some of those tube types you're playing with used in radar transmitters and other types of high frequency RF for communications?
Those things are designed to work into the gigahertz range, right?  I would imagine they would just be loafing along in the audio range.  Although, watts are watts when  it comes to pushing the load connected.  Also please keep the photos coming.  We loves us some tube porn, baby! :thumb:

Hi,Jake,Leak never make model TL20,mine is a TL12.1.
The grey boxes are BBC amplifiers made by Sound Sales of England model No.AM8/4.
Are you still using your Stereo 50?

This is 1 of 2 MKIV's I picked up recently (seperately) and BOTH units have a stock DYNACO (Mullard OEM) tubes throughout. I upgraded the 7199s to NOS Sylvania 6GH8As. All tested like new. Either they had very low hours on them or it's a testament to how good those Mullards are (or both). If anyone needs a pair of 7199s pm me.

Then I picked up a DeWald (LaFayette) integrated with all Mullard originals (4) 12AX7 and (4) EL84s and they are tested as new and are very closely matched as well. Amazing considering that amp was built in '59.
