Pez, I don't need the HDMI dongle or camera attachment since it is not true USB. The keyboard might be very useful. Hopefully there will be some 3rd party offerings. I think Apple is making more $$ on the accessories than they do on the pads.

I am not sure what the docks do besides offer an alternative charging method.

I am thinking end of May or early June for my purchase. I have guests or I am traveling until then. Might be nice to get one figured out before I go on jury duty--AGAIN.

I'll tell you from experience, DO NOT GET THEM. They are ok for a while, but they start peeling off and if they don't do that they will definitely discolor over time making your screen look $hitty. I had one on my iPhone for the entire thing. One by one the pieces fell off until just the front and back were left. Then the front came undone so far it started to encroach on the screen making it unreadable.

Plus they have a rubbery texture that both makes it more difficult to run your fingers over and gets dirty easier. Just my opinion, but I personally will never buy any display protection from zagg again. I've always run naked on my iPad screen and now do so with the iPhone, though I probably shouldn't.

Hey I talked to Verizon about Gen 1's and they have them for $299(16wifi) but they wouldn't spread th epyments out over 3 or 4 months onto my regular Verizon Bill so its actually a good thing because I'll wait and get an ipad2,airstash,Zagmate and I'll be set-the Zagmate is a great idea, I think the Airstash is great idea also but I'm wondering if I really need it or its "the neat gadget syndrome"...LOL.

must make for awkward conversations at block parties - and who makes a stylish "fanny pack" for the phone and keys/wallet

now this is just getting too silly

The Zagg keyboard does look very interesting, almost makes the iPad look like a MBA variant.

In my opinion, yes. Just avoid the Zagg. I would also stay away from any protectors that claim to reduce finger prints. They tend to screw up the clarity of the screen.

I will be honest regarding keyboards as well. Being an iPad owner for more than a year now I almost never use my keyboard. The onscreen is pretty good with corrective typing. I'm pretty much 90% the speed when typing on it as I am with a standard keyboard.

I am going to visit an audiobuddy today. I made a note to ask him if I can play with his iPad virtual keyboard. Do NOT let your imaginations run away.

I like the Zagg Mate concept because:
I want a good cover for traveling.
I like the keyboard idea.
Very compact and easy to transport.

I don't like the Zagg because:
Price
Many users are not thrilled. Great concept but poor execution.

The Zagg Mate is such a slick idea I am surprised Apple does not offer a similar accessory.

There is a rumor circulating that the new iPod will not be on schedule due to fallout surrounding the earthquakes and tsunami and that to make up for it there will be an iPad2 with a retina display coming out shortly.

Of course this is just rumor and I'm nothing more than a messenger here, so who knows if any of this is true or not.

Fortunately this makes absolutely no difference to me
