Congratulations for your talent I cant play anything, only silly audiophile but I always loved the Viola rich mid-range sound much more than the Violin, the Viola sound are much richer in harmonics than the prima dona Violin.
Not sure it's talent, just dang stubborn...Your picture there is what's called a "cutout" viola, the style was "invented"by a Hungarian-Canadian maker named Otto Erdesz. It's meant to make the big instrument slightly easier to play. Some are quite nice!
