I want to stuff the rear port on my 1801s. What material do you recommend? My wife is not to keen of me using my old undies.

I was trying to recall someone's recommendation of a plug they found in the plumbing section.  Trying to reduce some of the boom-boom that I'm not used to having.

Why don't you check out some of the cork plugs that Loewe's carries in the specialty fasteners section of the store? I don't recall what size ports your 1801's have as it's been quite some time since I've seen them. But they do have a fairly sizable selection of various sizes & thickness's.

I just had a funny idea.  Any of you guys ever seen trumpet mutes?  Specificially the hard textured cardboard mutes? I use to be a trumpet player (6+ years) and had a few of these mutes.   I wonder how they would work as port stuffers.   I am sure it wouldn't be great, but it is just peculiar enough to work!

I recommend Nike athletic socks.  Get the good ones made for tennis players.  They are thick and have a some Nylon in the weave.  Other cheap socks do an acceptable job initially, but the better socks are much more resilient.  They'll maintain a good seal inside the port for much longer.  Further, a quality speaker like the 1801s really deserves a high quality sock for port stuffing.  IMO, the Nike tennis socks are the best.
