Hi all,
I'm a vintage Carver guy and, except for cd players, I'm new to digital.  I'm looking for an inexpensive digital interface to play songs from my PC on my home stereo system.  I've just added a Behringer DEQ2496 digital EQ and DCX2496 digital crossover (between the preamp and amps).  Now I want to bypass my analog preamp and feed a digital input directly from the PC into the DEQ2496.  I will need an interface soundcard with volume control or some kind of digital preamp to do that.  It would also be nice to have additional inputs for other components like a cd player and tuner.  Is there anything like that out there for under $400?

You could use the Logitech Squeezebox Touch so long as you can manage without any other inputs... and it's only $300.  Don't know if you could hook up a CD player to it or not, but I'm pretty sure it has no analog inputs.

The Touch is a very ingenious device as were the models before it. You can stream music from your computer over a wireless connection or use an ethernet cable. In addition you will have access to numerous internet stations around the world. All free. I have a Touch and enjoy it very much. It will play 24/96 files as well. Earlier models did not have the capability to do that.

Thanks for that tip Y'all... I Googled up the Sqeezebox Touch and it looks to be exactly what I had in mind.  :thumb:
