I've added the 19th to my calendar so hope to make it. Who knows, might have another CD for Charlie.

What a great day :thumb: What a great shop :thumb:

Here's a couple pics from my cell phone (which lacks a bit at times);

This is the lobby of Mikes loft at St Louis Stereo

Remember this movie? If I remember correctly, it was filmed right there on Washington Ave. Who knows, Snake Pliskin may have even been in that building  :lol:

I only took one pick inside Mike's place (besides the sweets) :duh: I think Mark and Kent have a few more though;

The Leben gear was sounding really nice. For me it was a toss up between the big Devore's and the 6L6 amp and the little Totems mated to the Leben 6BQ5. Each pairing did some really nice things on different types of music. The PHY OB full rangers were kinda cool too. Maybe not everybody's cuppa tea but I bet with the right SET and some time to play with the speaker placement, I bet they could start to really sing.

The Well Tempered turntables were pretty awesome. That golf ball arm, as goofy as it seems, is darned impressive. Dead quiet, tracks great and lots of dynamics.

...and now for the sweets :green:

After St Louis Stereo, a few of us made our way over to Kirch's place to check out his new W4S amp and the big Von Schweikerts (sp?)

...sorry about the crappy picture :roll:

The system was sounding pretty darned good. The more I hear the W4S gear, the more I'm liking it .... did I really say that :scratch:  :lol:

Mike, Brian, thanks for having all of us over  :thumb:

Here's a photo of the Leben rack with phono, preamp and 6L6 big bottle amp

Here's the back view of Scott with daves in the foreground looking at the wall of Totem.

Another shot of the wall of sound.  Totem, Devore and Harbeth ready for duty.

Really a fun time at Mike's new store.  I had fun hearing the Shahinian's again and all the Well Tempered tables were so nice.  Coolest gear of the day; the baby Leben.  :icon_twisted: Thanks to all the guys at St. Louis Stereo for hosting this.  You know it was a fun day when ScottF likes class D amps and Vance is considering vinyl.  Epic!

Thanks to all that came out to the shop today!  Great to meet all of you.
And thanks for bringing the sweets, Scott.
Hope you had a good time, and come back and visit anytime.
The door is always open for the GASers.

Take care
from Charlie and Mike

and hopefully now we can sneak into one of your events.

It was a lot of fun listening to a bunch of well assembled and placed gear. I really like the vintage look the Lebens had going on, like a showroom filled with Scott tube gear! We will definitely be making a few more treks down to your loft in the near future, and I'll bring a truck so we can go home with the Harbeths and the book case :lol:

Thanks to all who made a very enjoyable Saturday afternoon!

Here's a few more shots.
A view of the Obelisk room.  (sorry about the water spots on the lens)

The Audio Research rack driving the big room.  The amp in the low stand is a prototype Dynavector ss amp.

A poor shot of the new Well Tempered Simplex.

The force was indeed very strong with the Dynavector and Well Tempered gear.  Mark and Brian, your Jedi mind tricks won't be as effective on my wife but there's hope. She's open to me buying all kinds of tweaks. We'll talk soon. :eyebrows:

It was good to see everyone and I could kick myself for missing Kirsh's Von Schweikert rig. Heard it was killer.

I'm so damn bummed that I missed both places... but I'm getting further and further behind on this major project and I'm also helping my old employer out of a pickle this week that was out of the blue so I couldn't justify the time away   :cry:

I'll be contacting both you guys soon!!!   :thumb:
