Fellow Tube-O-Philes,

This thread is for links to reputable repair companies. Please add to the list if you have a favorite repair technician. And, no, it does not matter if they repair tube or solid-state gear.

Scott Gramlich, a very competent and reasonable tech who works on tube, SS, speakers and pro gear. Been in business for a couple of decades.

You may need to do some "legwork" in that you might consider emailing two or three after reading their "about us" type webpage. You might find someone by Googling "Levinson/Proceed CD transport repair".

I had a Melos preamp repaired by Ben Jacoby of High-End Audio Repair in NY. with excellent results. I did a fair bit of searching to find him.

Ditto for Alex. He can do tuner alignment, even rebuild Quad ESLs. I saw a R2R deck go in as pudding and come out like new, total ground up restoration. He does mail order repairs.

I don't know if Scott works on CD transports. Doesn't have the equipment to do tuner alignments. I do know he is great with amps, speakers and general repairs though.

Tubes = happiness for my self-designed Open Baffle speakers. But I need help... does anyone know of a really ethical tube amp repair shop in the Ventura or Santa Barbara area of California... I might even seriously consider Los Angeles (about 1.7 miles away). But I don't want to ship my Heathkit... too many things happen when it is in the hands of shippers.

I deeply appreciate any information that could help me to get my 1950's re-circuited Heathkit playing without occasional performance anomalies. Those EL 84's and my OB's make love happen together.

I will second that. Top notch in every respect. He tunes pianos as well. Sounds like a great combo to me.
