Joe Ely at McGonigel's Mucky Duck in downtown Houston - 17 October 15Solo performance (like a lot of the shows at the Mucky Duck) and one of the reasons why I keep coming back. I LOVE this venue. The acoustics are great and there isn't a bad seat in the house. We were about three feet from the stage. He played a few songs off of his new album but surprisingly most of the songs were requests from the crowd. People would say a song when the last one ended, he'd pick at his guitar for a second, tell a story about the song, then play it as if he wrote it that morning. I never saw a show like that. It was pretty awesome to watch. Our seats:Joe Ely:
To add to the pvs note, the Duck in Houston is a great venue. I've seen 20-30 shows there.
Bruce on March 24 in Seattle for me. Can't wait--my favorite Springsteen album most of the time.
haha! The second half of the album gets the most play here.Best,Ed
