Talk about a cheap and cheerful product. I am very interested in using this for my Silverline Minuets. What exactly do I need to do to install this material? Do I need to disasseble my speakers (someting I've never done before)?
Most speaker cabinets don't have removable front or rear baffles, although there are some that do. Most of the time installing damping material sheets or crossovers requires removing a woofer and installing through the cutout hole.
In your case, with a 3-1/2" woofer and correspondingly small hole, it could prove to be quite challenging, as your hand may not fit through the hole. You would probably need to remove the tweeter as well. Of course, some people who have a lot of patience build ship models in a bottle.
If the internal speaker wires are equipped with push-on connectors it will be fairly easy. If they are soldered on, you would probably need to unsolder the connections to get them out of the way, unless there is excess speaker wire length. Also be very careful when unscrewing the drivers, as even experienced people have had a screwdriver slip out of the screw and puncture a driver. It they use hex screws, you have a little built-in safety, but if they are phillips screws, extra care should be taken.
