Omega Maxhemp in Macassar Ebony with black pedestals (loaded with sand).  Upgraded with current Alnico drivers.  This was Omega's top-of-the-line speaker until $3500 Super 8 XRS replaced them.  Runs on everything from small tube amps to larger SS.  Great mid and lower bass that Omega's smaller drivers can't produce.  Has upgraded brass screws in drivers.

I have original shipping boxes.  Louis at Omega is great to work with.  Hate to see them go, but a new front living room remodel dictates smaller monitors.  I'm the second owner after the original owner traded them in. I have the original Bill of Sale from Omega.  I've owned them for over two years and upgraded to the Alnicos approx 18 months ago.  Rated 7 on Audiogon scale for light 3 inch scratch on top of one speaker. this is single driver speakers right?
how do they sound compared to other high end monitor speakers?
are highs great with no tweeters?

Yes, these are single drivers and compared to other high end stand mount monitors, these will have better bass, mid-bass, a more relaxed ease about them, and because they are single drivers, they're really musical and coherent.  Research the Omega posts here on AC and check out the industry reviews of Louis' work.  Very positive.

hi is mc275 way too powerful to drive this monitor?

Not at all.  The MC275 or any higher power amp is fine. One of the best set ups I had with the Maxhemps was with a 200 wpc NHT Power2 amp with a TVC passive.  Man, was it a fast combination. WAR's "Slipping Into Darkness" was soooooo perfect.  Another very different, but also great combo was my Onix H34 with 45 watts of KT66 power.
