Persian rugs
« on: 15 Jan 2011, 04:28 am »
I've got several Persian rugs that I have been wanting to put on the walls of my listening room.  These are heavy pile wool and 1/2 to 3/4" thick.  Are these too dense to be effective as absorbers?  I can put them in a frame with Corning 703 behind them.  Thoughts?

Not too dense.  Straight on the wall would be great.  In a frame w/Corning 703 would be even better.

Yes, or skip the frame and just hang the rug loosely over 1 or 2-inch thick 703 that's held on the wall with thin finishing nails.

Ohhh, I like that!  Easy is always nice.  I think I'll cut the 703 to size, spray paint the edges flat black, and nail everything directly to the wall.   :D

Yes, that's easier, and it is also truly better, since any frame would cause reflections.
