Phone, TV and Internet bundles
« on: 30 Dec 2010, 01:09 pm »
Looking to bundle my connection to the outside world.  Right now I have no TV and ATT phone with their basic internet.  Low and behold a Comcast guy comes to my door yesterday and since the timing was perfect I let him in.  (Digital prefered, HD, phone, internet up to 20Mbps).  average $120/mo.  A little concerned about voip, changing sbcgobal email addys.  Is there anything I should be concerned about with comcast phone?  I've had their basic cable years ago and despite online complaints, I've never had a problem.

I am going to the ATT store today to see what it costs to upgrade internet and add DTV.

Anyone sign up for two years and wish they went with the other guy?  voip quality issues?

No fios in my area  :?

Max,
I've not had any issues with my Comcast phone.  Personally I am not a big fan of Comcast, but when I was deciding At&t deal breaker for me was the extra $7 per tv for boxes.  Having several of the, it added quote bit to my monthly bill.  Typically Comcast will give you 3 free.

Comcast internet is faster of the two.

Best of luck.

Regards,
Jeff

Comcast now adds a bogus "HD fee" or some nonsense like that instead of charging for a first HD box (not sure about a second box).

I had a bundle, until after a year they wanted some obscene fee for it ($200/month?).  I pay $120/month right now for just internet and "digital basic" cable.  I use Vonage for phone, because it was significantly cheaper ($20/month), although they've raised their prices, too.

I have the Comcast bundled service (HDTV, phone & Internet). I had reservations about voip too until my son who has had the bundled package for 3 years convinced me that the voip quality was at least as good as Qwest (I already had Comcast cable and Internet). Bundling the 3 services saved me $$$. Comcast Internet is much faster than DSL. I have not had any problems with my Comcast service. I also switched to the Comcast bundled business service when we moved our office last January and it included basic cable for free. No problems with voip at work and we have 6 outside lines on rollover plus a dedicated fax line. Lowered our phone costs including LD by more than $250/month.
