Jason...
You say you are waiting for firmware from Oppo until you can release 93NU.
What happens if someone buy a player from Oppo-UK, than we get an 93EU which obviously have a different firmware than US models (what differs in firmware- region code !!). Can they be updated to 93EX/NXE buying upgrade board from you or will it be firmware dependent also ?
Same applies for 95 model...... (-95 forum says that 95EU can't use firmware from oppo (US))

We decided to terminate R&D on BDP-95NXE.

In our opinion, BDP-93NE sounded very close to CDP-8, and some of you might prefer it over CDP-8. Keep in mind that Wes Philips, a very well respected reviewer from Stereophile has stated in the review that CDP-8 is one of the best CD player he has ever heard. His review literally implied that this is the best CDP you can buy for reasonable amount of money.
We believe BDP-93NE and CDP-8 can compete with players costing > $5000.

BDP-93NE, like the CDP-8, does everything right. Unlike the CDP-8, it is more "tube like" sounding. So it is a matter of taste.

BDP-93NXE brings out the SOUL of the music, whatever that it is playing. A 300 year old cello will sound just like one, a soulful singer's voice will haunt you, you will cry if you hear a sad song, you feet will tap with the music.  In our opinion, this is the best player we have ever heard in our lab.
I personally have not been so moved by music in our demo system until I heard BDP-93NXE yesterday.

We just completed testing BDP-93NXE and volume shipment will begin on May 2.

Hi Jason, I know this is off topic, but you gave a really nice comparison between the units. I was curious to know where you think your new DAC-9 sits in all of this? Thanks!

What about analog comparison in multichannel between 93NXE and standard 95 from OPPO ?

Jason, is it possible to eliminate the video section as well as multi channel playback Leaving a dedicated two channel  universal player ?
I would be very interested in that. A well as many others.

Well, as a BDP 95 owner I am a bit disappointed. However, that information sure makes up my mind to either get the Nuforce mod or the Modwright mod! Thank you.

BDP-93NXE - essentially the same design as 93NE, but with re-clocking of all the digital signals for better performance. This is not easy to design, so it cost twice the price of BDP-93NE.

If you want a top quality BDP (93 and 95 has the same video board), and truly world class CDP or DAC (if you use HD for music), go with BDP-93NXE.  We are waiting for firmware from OPPO to release 93NE.

Good evening and sorry for my "English"  (I'm writing from Europe),

I am very interested in the reader OPPO BDP-93 NXE.
I wish to be completely cabled in HDMI.
My preferance is directed homecinema and not hi-fi.

1/ The sound and the video will be them better with hdmi transmission on the 93-NXE than hdmi transmission on the BDP 93, 93 NE and 95 ? (It seems to me that these three last versions have same digital performance (with hdmi))
2/ To have the best sound, it is better to cabler in analog or digital (hdmi) ?
3/ It is preferable to change cable of supply to obtain still better results?

Thank you in advance and "still sorry" !

Hi Jason,

Is the BDP-93NXE still targeted for a May availability through your eStore site?

I have to resist a huge pressure from my wife to buy something locally in Japan to watch DVDs/Blue-rays on our new plasma screen and each day counts.  :icon_lol:

Thks.

Cheers,
Bernard

Thanks.

I've had the 93NXE for just over a week and at approximately 50 hours it went from sounding good to sounding great.  One moment I was thinking that it wasn't much different from my stock BDP-95 to...WOW.  How much further improvement can I expect as it continues to settle in?

I am new to AudioCircle and hoping for some expert advise

I own a standard Oppo 93 hooked to a Denon 4311.

Between an upgraded Oppo 93NXE and a stock Denon 4311, which of the two has the better DAC's and processor?

I am considering ordering NuForce's NXE board and before spending the $$$, I am trying to decide if the upgrade in audio quality is great enough to be worth the cost??????

Could you please give me some input?

I listen to SACD's and a lot of Blu-rays

Thanks

I recently bought the Oppo BDP 93 NuForce Edition.
The player is really superb, both picture and sound. Analog audio, especially multi-channel, is really fantastic. So, I am more than pleased with this purchase.

However, there is one problem, which admittedly is not always present, but appears occasionally and is very disturbing. Specifically, the main video processor (the one on the HDMI-1) happens to fail from time to time in a way that the picture completely loses it's proper form and colour and becomes a sequence of some kind of psychedelic patterns.

If in such a case I switch to HDMI 2, then back to HDMI 1, things get back to normal. But if I stayed on HDMI 1, a malfunction would last.

Can you please advise me, what to do? Thank you very much in advance.

Try to replace or try a different HDMI cable.  It seems to me the data is dropping off occasionally.

As long as you are routing signal through the Denon it won''t matter which is better,,,,UNLESS your denon has analogue pass-thru.
