Does anyone else's BR2 emit a high pitch noise when it is backlit?

High... but not high enough to bug my dog.  I disabled the backlight on the remote for the time being.  I'll drop it by your shop the next time I'm in Peterborough.

No noise when backlit but it does make a tapping noise when it uncontrollably hits my wedding band while keeping time to the music.  Well, I had to find another use for it besides mute and volume control on the BP26.

Yeah, mine makes that noise as well but I can easily correct it by moving it out of reach.  Hmmm.. that'd work for the other noise as well but defeats the purpose of the remote.

yep, mine does too. funny thing is it doesn't light up when lifted up, only when pressed a button, which is too bad actually. Do I have to have a setting changed to correct that behaviour?

Greetings, and a happy new year from Holland!

If you want it to light when you pick it up just press and hold the CODE button until the red LED flashes, then enter 797 - the red LED will flash twice after the code has been entered successfully.  792 turns the motion sensor off.

This info comes from the owner's manual.

well that doesn't work. after pressing the 9 the led stops lighting up, and the remote doesn't light at all anymore....

I got that information from the owner's manual that came with my BR2; however, I looked at the manual that came with the BDA-1 and it has been corrected:
Same process except 792 toggles the motion sensor on/off and 797 toggles the backlight on/off.

Also the light doesn't come on in a bright room.  So if it is not working at all do code 797 then code 792.  Cover up the light sensor between the code and power button to check it.

Now that you mention it, mine does indeed emit that high-pitched whine when it's lit but it's really faint. Actually, it's kind of reassuring that I can still even hear that frequency. Ain't none of us gettin' any younger... :no_hear:

@brystony thanks, that did it! apparently I had them mixed up, and because of that the tilting setting was not enabled, working extremely fine right now.

especially happy because of the fact that my bp28's are under my esl63's on their special stands as of today. As if they were made for it... :D :D

thanks again, and neverminding the high noise,

Marius
