You guys are a bit above me on the affordability scale...I went and looked at Transparent cables and quickly backpedaled after seeing the prices.

I have had to claw my way into the low end of high end by buying dealer demos and used equipment (not looking for sympathy, just a fact 'o life). But FWIW I am quite happy with my Bel Canto eVo2i II integrated amp and Analysis Plus cables and VR-2 speakers. The AP cables just sound right to me, and are very affordable by high end standards.

Hi,

I drive my VR5 Anni's with the McIntosh MC352 and Analysis Plus Oval 9 bi-wire cable. Hopefully with this years tax return, I plan to upgrade to possibly VSA Cables. Does anybody know the prices for the VSA's? Probably 8 feet in length.

My VR2's are connected to an NAD 375BEE using Tara Labs cable. Sounds BIG and spatial!  :thumb:

Albert send me a pair of VSA purple line speaker cables for my VR-33. It excelled in every area. Good tight bass, soundstaging is huge & highs are extended clear and sweet. Just wonderful. Highly recommended for those who have VR-33/35.

Happy New Year.
Dan.

I always liked AP cables. The Oval 12 is a great value. I used the older model of 8s before switching to Verbatims then VSA Sigs.

The best bargain cable for me was the Townshend Maxwire. A skinny Litz affair in  hollow PVC tube. Too bad they were discontinued. The Isolda works very well too but is pricey. :(

I have the Oval Nine speaker cable...the Oval 12 is good but the Nine is better, fuller and deeper bass.

Good choice. I had the Silver Ovals but that didn't go too well with my HSEs. I also had two runs of 9s before Solo Crystal 8 with my SR Mk1s then switched to Verbies when I went with 5SEs. The Verbies stayed with the 9s and I switched to VSA Sigs less than a year ago.

AP supplied VSA with internal wiring for quite some time. Gen.III HSEs even had an AP badge out back. Trivia!

Another brand of cables that went well with mid generation VRs was Acoustic Zen. Similar in character to them are mid level Purist Audio Designs.

AP supplied VSA with internal wiring for quite some time.  Still do Jack...my VR5 annies (built 4/2009) have AP internal wiring...
