Just buying the amp and CD player doesn't cut it. One also needs some acoustic treatment (as long as the WAF is respected of course).

Here is the nekkid truth about acoustic treatment. Keep the wife at some distance...

I always tell people the room is the most overlooked component.  I treated the main system (and measured it with my RTA) and I have used an SPL meter with test tones for the bedroom system and I trying hard not to drag the RTA into the bedroom or basement secondary systems to avoid the onset of my audiophelia which flares up from time to time 8)

If your room has really poor acoustics, may I suggest headphones instead of acoustic treatments?
