Just curious what you folks are using for amplication. Could I connect the buffer to a couple of Outlaw monoblocks?

Using RCA cables it will connect to any power amp.

I guess I was wondering about gain (or lack thereof) and if certain equipment setups are more "Buffer friendly."

Your source component provides the gain. Most all of equipment in the last 10 years or so has an average output level of around 2 volts, this is plenty of gain to drive the vast majority of amplifiers. Best of all you have a wide range of use with the volume control due to no gain from the buffer. :green:

Thanks, Gary. I use a Mac Mini as a music server and output over USB via a Hiface M2tech. Any idea if there is enough gain on that type of connection?

Gary this is a fantastic Christmas sale.  I sure hope many AC members jump on this, I know how much I enjoy my buffer kit I built last summer.

I saw one post where a member was recommending the Ctek charger. Any other good products?

Also...

If I had three 7 ah batteries in parallel, what would I want to keep the batteries at optimal charge?

You can still use the CTEK.  Why use three batteries?  A single 28Ah is much easier.

Yes, the CTEK is the best charger IMO.  I highly recommend the US 800.

IIRC, Danny uses a CTEK charger on his 100Ah SLA battery.

I have Ctek 7002 for my 100AH battery in main system and Ctek 800 in other system.

I have three fairly new batteries for a power conditioner that is in storage (long story). I probably won't be able to unpack it for another 9 months. Paralleling the batteries would be fairly easy and give me 21 aH of juice.

I'm sorry I didn't explain myself.  The 7Ah battery will be plenty without the CTEK hooked up.  I had a long conversation with the CTEK rep (last week) and it's perfectly fine to leave them connected all the time as they are truly "smart".

No, you will not hear any feedback from the charger hooked up while listening

Thanks all. One of the CTEK chargers sounds like the ticket.

Sent an email to Gary/Dodd Audio to get in on this, waiting for reply. Not complaining as I know he's busy, just wanted to be "on the record". Think it will be a sweet pre/buffer. Just a taste of tubes should do it - (sometimes too many layers of tubery confounds the performance imo - pre/rectifier/power).

I emailed him a couple of days ago got  a response and did the paypal so merry christmas to me I sure you will get yours.
I am hoping to learn what battery PS is all about, Planning to compare the battery PS with a 12V double regulated PS I have lying around.  If I hear positive things with the battery PS then I will try Batteries with the DAC. If not well I will chalk it up to experience
