Happy Thanksgiving from snowy and cold Spokane. I got up early this morning to smoke a 16# turkey on my cast iron charcoal grill using the rotisserie. Using soaked hickory, pecan and sassafrass woods for smoke flavor. The turkey has been on for about an hour.

Thanks! I'm taking it to a friends house. There will be 6 of us chowing down on this bird so I'm not expecting any leftovers. I saw some pics of the west side--pretty nasty. We had a very mild winter last year so I fear we will make up for it this year.

Will that smoked bird be seeing any Skaer BBQ sauce?    Seems to me from spinning vinyl to roast turkey's, everything you do is done as a labor of pasion Laura. Enjoy Thanksgiving weekend.

I will offer Skaer Sauce on the side as an option. I do enjoy cooking a turkey this way. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I wish I had one of your pies to enjoy

I made an apple/cranberry/walnut pie using apples from the back yard Laura. Vanilla ice cream is a mandatory accessory, Skaer sauce is not.

No pics, but I brined a 20 lb bird overnight, roasted with stuffing.  Came out exceptionally juicy and delicious!
