That's looking better, and it will make a significant difference in how clean your sub sounds. Good job.

You are making good headway!  Pretty involved for a first sub.

No snow where you are?

Yeah if I weren't using a leftover original MFW amp I would have went
3 ft cubed like Danny suggested but who knows what kind of filter/boost was used so best for me to just copy the original.

No snow in NC....... ;)

What are your thoughts on the amp you are going to use?  Make two and run a Dayton 1000 in series?  Or are you going to use a amp from Danny - the SA 1?

Yeah I'm re-using the old mfw amp i had.  I would not have gone through the trouble of recreating the mfw if not.....

Sealed or a tube port would have been much easier.....

Haha that's actually an illusion, the rifle
Is actually a very small toy and is sitting on the coffee table which kinda blends into the floor.  Look at the remote right beside......

I took some quick numbers and everything looks good.  No mysterious rattles and resonance seems at least as low as the original.  I know this I prob not absolutely perfect for sub comparison but it's a good snapshot of the subs performance.  I ran test tones at a Level which would result in moderate spl.  I level matched the subs with the white noise from receiver and ran the tones and recorded spl independently at the listening position.  The room orientation was as pictured so there was about 3-4ft difference in position but close enough for this go.

Also note the sub did not like 10hz @96db..........  It clipped pretty hard after about 3 seconds......hehe.  ;)

Freq      New sub.       Original
20.           94.              94
30.           101.            101
40.           103.            102
50.           97.              98
60.           101.            103
70.           102.            105
80.           101.            102

Looks like the original had a little more swell above 40hz making the making the numbers of mine flatter, but this could have a little to do with position.

I'm going to call this a personal success.

Nice job.  That is quite a complex project for a first sub.  The numbers seem to confirm that you are at least as good as the original.

Regarding the remote next to your rifle, I've never seen a bigger remote .

Kind regards,
Tom

Thanks!  Did I say it was my first?  I dont remember saying but it was......  Yeah took quite a bit of thought on the assembly of the port and how to make sure all the pieces fit correctly and could be sealed with caulk after assembly.

I haven't had time to finish it but I've spent more time with it since its sitting in my living room.  I would say I think the extra bracing helped it does seem a bit less boomy but who knows could be placebo.  Like the measurements suggest though I think its at least as good....  :)

Thank goodness I didn't need to shoot it!!!

What type wire do you use to connect amp to driver?  Speaker wire?

How about those high level leads for the amp/driver connection?  What wire to use?
