Whole load of TB full-rangers

The Parts Express catalog is showing a whole slew of TB full-rangers, which seem to be similar provenance to the W8-1772/1808 but in the smaller sizes. Judging by the prices they're fairly "high end" -

wonder how the 6 inch one would sound in a transmission line configuration? Or would a closed or vented box be better? Any reviews on these out on these speakers?

No, couldn't find anything much. Just thought I'd put them out here in case anyone was interested...

The 4'' driver's freq plots look superb. Very smooth in the midrange. Should do nicely in a small vented/sealed box and fuction as sub + satellite combo.

What eye candy those drivers are!

In case anyone is interested in trying one of the TBs (and reporting back ;) ) - PE is having some kind of "Cyber Monday" sale with 25% off.

I've been toying with putting the 4" into a BIB build.  The Fs of 55 Hz looks pretty good for that.  Has decent SPL too and an easy 8 ohm load.

Sounds interesting. How do you calculate box parameters for a BiB? (I've never managed to quite figure out what a BiB is exactly.)

Hi JohnR,

Here's how to calculate a BiB, plus a description of the BiB geometry: http://www.zillaaudio.com/bib/bib-howtobuild.asp

essentially, a chamber-less folded back loaded horn - performance may not be quite as refined in control of ripple as more elaborate manifold or exponential flare designs, but damned easy to build and huge bang for the buck

and kudo's to Jeff at Zillaspeak for the investment of time and treasure entailed in the site linked by mr bond
