Recently acquired a very nice SCA 35 and an FM 3 tuner. Both factory wired units with all original tubes. Tuner works fine. Powered up the SCA 35 and then connected the FM 3 tuner to it. Now I did a real nice cleaning to both units, sprayed switches, pots, cleaned everything. When I finally got them up and running, I ran into this problem.
FM 3 has volume pot which was set to no output, SCA35 has volume pot, set to no output. I raised the volume on the FM3 and sound comes out of right channel !!

Now I have the volume on the amp down to zero and get sound from the right channel. I unsoldered the wires on the volume pot and it seems to be OK...It is a 250K dual pot with a loudness contour...Also checked the balance pot with meter and that also seems OK...When I raise the volume on the amp , the left channel comes up and about all the way up it is the same and the right channel. Seems like the signal is bypassing the volume pot on the amp...When I switch the selector to phono, I get a motorboating sound out of the right channel. Any suggetions? Bill Thomas are you out there?
