WTB: DIY SS reference power amp.(FOUND IT !)
« on: 17 Nov 2010, 08:08 am »
Big watts are not mandatory. Any Class is fine provided it can be wired for 230Volts and it has to  be a reference quality amplifier properly built. Write proposal to ubik-energy@iol.it with pics and details. Delivery to Italy by airmail.Thanx

Hello Ubik, at the risk of getting slammed for my callousness and insensitivity in daring to comment on a Trading Post Ad, perhaps you should consider a) looking at the items that are for sale already? b) being more specific on what you are looking for? c) participating more in the other areas of the site first?

Thanx John, regretfully have no time to partecipate at the forum this period. If I should indicate preferences I would be tempted to say any Pass design, especially latest aleph iterations or Tripath based  amps Thanx for your comments

Well, the Virtue Audio Sensation is a Tripath amp. Is that in your price range?

Well, all people seems to advise T class amps although nobody of them indicate me when these are really that great.. I currently would like to keep my great spectral preamp and would prefer a power amp. Will think over but still who has traditional CLASS A amps to offer, dont hesitate.

Well I have a Threshold Stasis 3 that I'd consider selling, but I don't know what's needed to get it wired for 230v, and as it's a Class-A design, it weighs a ton, so shipping it to Italy would likely be cost prohibitive.

I didn't mention it originally, because you mentioned you were looking for a DIY, and didn't mention that you were looking for a Class-A amplifier.
