Mike's wild Brazilian rosewood HT2-TL's

Mike wanted a pair of HT2-TL's, but he wanted something unusual.  So he set out in search of an exotic veneer. It took a while, but he finally came across a batch of rare Brazilian rosewood.  Along with typical Brazilian rosewood coloration, this batch featured levels of lighter sapwood not all that common.  By book-matching the pieces, we were able to generate some very unusual patterns.

Here is a picture of the finished speakers...

And a close-up...

Happy listening Mike!

Also appears to be the silhouette of a person (in the center of the M) of the left speaker!

Is that a satin finish or something else?

That is our standard satin finish.  The lighting makes the finish appear just a little washed out.

If I decide to go with the the HT2-TL I may have to ask Jim to not post any pictures of them.  As soon as someone points out an odd image they see, that's all I'll see when I get them!

This is the pair I was drooling over (unfinished) when I payed Jim a visit a few weeks back.  They turned out to look as good as I thought they would.

Nice veneer selection   :D
...and great work Jim, and crew.

Cheers, enjoy

Jim, have you ever experimented with putting the silver name plates on the plinth instead of the speaker?  It varies by finish/veneer, but I personally think some of the more exotic veneers (such as these and mine) would look better without the name plate on them.

Another thing to try would be a black name plate with silver or copper writing.  I bet people would be willing to pay a few more $ for this.  Imagine the speakers above with a black name plate and copper colored writing that matched the woofers.

Just curious.
