Chrissy Hynde. Actually thought it was a Pretenders song the first time I heard it. There's two or three songs that I'm rather addicted to on the album right now. Makes for great driving music.

Maybe it's just me, but I thought it was a toned down Siouxsie Sioux of Siouxsie and the Banshees/Creatures when I first saw the lead singer.
Not the theatrical/gothic Siouxsie but more in the vein of her "Kiss Them For Me."

I'm embarrassed to say that I don't have a copy to compare. I doubt there's any similarity, but every time I hear of Siouxsie and the Banshees my mind races to an image of Wendy O Williams and the whipped cream thing. It's not my fault!!! I can... deal with....... this. Gotta make.... appointment with doctorrrrr

Gordy,
Siouxsie took on several stage personas during her career, so any comparison to her is limited at best. She mellowed somewhat from her Goth scary-girl image, and it's the latter that the Yeah Yeah Yeahs remind me of.

BTW, what did you think of the Trial of the Bow CD?? I think the comparison to Dead Can Dance or Vas is a valid one (someone made the same recommendation to me some time ago: now it's in your court!
