Just got a Mac Mini and have a few questions that maybe someone can answer.

So I use EAC to rip cd's to flac and DBpoweramp to convert to Apple Lossless.
Will this be the same quality as having itunes rip the cd to lossless on the Mini?

On the Mini - I have iTunes working with a external firewire drive.
How do I add new music to the drive?

Can I copy the new music folders onto the firewire drive and have itunes rescan the drive?
Will I get dups?

thanks,

Jeff

No. Use the 'Add to Library' function. (File >> Add to Library).

Just curious why you're ripping in one program, then converting with another, and playing back with yet another. Might be just easier to rip to AIFF in iTunes and let it manage your storage as well.

Well my entire library is in flac from the SB days. So I am maintaining that for now.
I may reconsider shortly :-)

Add to File- will that do entire folders of songs? Or one song at a time?

You could consider having EAC point to the "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder which is in your iTunes folder :) ...   It's what i do with RIP/MAX, and yes it automatically adds to itunes..
