Ahmad Jamal - Heat Wave
I don't know why my pics are showing up so large. This seems to be a recent phenomenon for me. If anyone can offer tips on how to make them in line with the others being posted, I'd be grateful.
Hey Jeff, Picture size is result of resolution/pixel count. Generally pixel count for posted pics is 500x500. Some of Azons go up to 1500x, and can be edited down pre-post, Discogs are 600x600. If you're taking the picture with a camera, regular or phone I'd guess it's at a higher resolution, which increases the pixel count & size when posted. I'm not seeing a means to resize once uploaded to AC, though there may be in the upload process, I don't remember since it's been a while. If not that would mean you would need to 'down-size' the file resolution prior to uploading with whatever photo software you may use. My cameras routinely take pics at 1200x768, or 1900x, I use my phone as a phone only. fwiw your pics are not overly large imo, obviously not to the point of over-loading the screen requiring the slide bars to view the entire pic and pushing the in-frame features buttons off-screen as sometimes happens in sundry posts. It's likely not worth trying to change the camera resolution as you want the better pics for normal use. My friend and computer guru pointed me to a free-ware photo program, Photoscape (no affliiation), which I use on the occasions I need to resize something. I generally just use Discogs now that Amazon pics have gotten funky size-wise. Select the artist, album, stored photos, right click on the chosen pic gives you a fly-out, select "copy image link", back to AC post, hit the "image" button, Cntrl V, eh voila ! example - If you do a quote of this post you'll see what it looks like. Hope that helps some, and maybe answers a question or two. Keep 'em spinning Sir. - JD
