Another find at the used record store yesterday. Very clean copy, and I think my first Lester Young. Tough to find much information on this recording, but seems to capture what Pres was talking about in his final interview in Paris, "I don't like a whole lot of noise — trumpets and trombones," Young says in the interview. "I'm looking for something soft. It's got to be sweetness, man, you dig?"
This is a very sweet recording. It's also clear that my phono stage, tonearm cable, and Miyajima Zero cartridge are sweetening up as well.
