Goodness gracious, Elizabeth, how refreshing it is to me to see you on this topic. I know you're a music lover- so does everyone, no doubt- but I didn't know you listened to any jazz.
Now, about what I tuned in to post. Monday nights, the groups booked at the Jazz Workshop in SF, had the those nights off. The club grabbed whomever was available to keep the club open for the evening. I'm walking by, just so happens, I swear, on a Monday night with no intention of looking in when I heard the proceedings and saw the band's name in the window. I went in. The band playing was the Albert Manglesdorff Quintet. Just by sheer happenstance I heard some of the most mesmerizing music I had heard ever up to that point in time.

I've heard other albums by them that I wish I could remember. They are fairly plentiful. This one, however, I own. I have heard better on the German MPS label.
