Though I have been a jazz fan for almost 40 yrs, I somehow managed to not be aware of this album. I rectified this oversight very quickly after hearing it on an internet jazz station. WOW, what a great record.

This is my favorite (nearly) unknown jazz album. it is a tribute to Django Reinhardt. None of the tunes are Django tunes; it is more a tribute to the style. Just happened to be walking through a Borders record department once and it was playing on the store system. Like the Burrell album, I knew I had to have it as soon as I heard it. Buy it; you'll like it.

Seven discs total. Discs 4 and 5, the NAACP benefit show from 1964 that resulted in 2 LPs worth of material (My Funny Valentine and Four & More), but here put into playing sequence and containing the previously unreleased track "Autumn Leaves". These two discs alone are worth the price I paid as they are very well recorded and it was a superb performance. No Miles fan should be without this box.
