Got this rec from S. Clark. Tore it open at the mailbox and slipped it into my car's CDP. It's very good! I'll recommend it to you. Thanks, Clark: http://www.ebay.com/itm/My-Funny-Valentine-by-Manhattan-Jazz-Quintet-CD-Pro-Jazz-Records-/250989053553?pt=Music_CDs&hash=item3a701d0671
I just got my first Patricia Barber HDCD: Companion...LOVE IT!
Glad you liked it (but I knew you would). That cd has great dynamics. The Manhattan Jazz Quintet are seemingly unheard of.. except in Japan where they have a big following. But with Steve Gadd, Eddie Gomez, and David Matthews it's hard to miss. Most haven't followed Lew Soloff since his Blood Sweat and Tears days, but he is a very solid bebop soloist. Just picked up another of their cd's- Manhattan Jazz Quintet "The Sidewinder". It's another good one. Scott
