(7/01, p.111) - 3 stars out of 5 - "...Revisits the polished Blue Note sound. Hubbard's sharp as a blade throughout."
Down Beat
(8/01, p.85) - 3 stars out of 5 - "...A pleasing, little big band session....Hubbard keeps things mostly in the flugelhorn's low and middle registers..."

I've been looking around for the less popular strands and roots of reggae recently and came across this album:
Roy Burrowes is invited by Jamaican producer Coxsone Dodd to play on some classic Studio One tracks. The quality of the tracks are pretty inconsistent, but it's an interesting project.
Roy Burrowes - Trumpet
Clifford Jordan - Tenor Sax (passed away partway through project)
Charles Davis - Baritone Sax (taking over)

A nice one from Zoot. I wonder how he got that name. I'll have to google it. Anyhow, the sound quality is very good as well. This just in...John Haley Sims got his nickname while working with the Ken Baker band in 1943, others in the band were “Scoot” and “Voot.” So there you have it Zoot playing with Scoot and Voot.
Zoot Sims - For Lady Day
Personnel:
Zoot Sims (tenor saxophone), Jimmy Rowles (piano), George Mraz (acoustic bass), Jackie Williams (drums).
Recorded in New York in April, 1978.
