Very interesting JD.  I had not seen that one before.  It has the feel of Miles Davis fusion to it.

Mike

That was a comment of one of the reviewers, and can't imagine that Bitches Brew released a year before didn't have some affect on Donald's thought process. Though I find Donald's approach more melodic, less free form than Miles, yet still with that spacey/psychedelic edge. Not sure how I came across it now, my only Byrd on vinyl, have had it since early '70s, one of the LPs I had to hang onto. Was delighted when the CD was finally released, making it a more easily archived/reproduceable work. Nice to be able to listen to the whole thing without interruption (ie flipping the record).

Have a safe, & productive trip. Catch ya later..........

^^ Looks good SC! I have a few albums with Vinnegar on them but no solo outings.

Possibly my all time favorite jazzman next. It's either Monk or Silver. Love them both!

Further Explorations by The Horace Silver Quintet

with Art Farmer, Clifford Jordan, Teddy Kotick & Louis Hayes

Recorded on January 13, 1958.
