Is the Hsu STF-2 a Good Sub for a Smaller Listening Room?

I would like to get a sub for my Silverline Minuet speakers. Is the STF-2 good re: clean, defined low end? I need it for my two channel system, not a home theater setup.

There's a Mirag LF 100 on eBay for $170/obo. Is this something decent?

Thank you.

I've certainly enjoyed mine, and, in my limited experience, haven't heard anything better in the price range.

If the STF-2 doesn't have an adjustable crossover, how is the bass frequency cutoff determined, I wonder.

Why do you say this? The fact sheet on the Hsu site says it is adjustable 30 - 90 Hz: http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/stf-2.html

I have enjoyed my Hsu (s) for 15 years and as far as I know, all their models are notable for clean, accurate, "un-hyped" response. I have never in all these years read anything but this sort of description of their behaviour, so by now I would feel comfortable with any Hsu model. It would seem that Dr Hsu really knows his stuff.

Next step is multiple subs!

Had an STF-2, sold it for a song.  One day, saw another STF-2 for sale, snagged it.  I'm not using it right now, but I would if I needed it.  Probably won't sell it this time unless I move, or something else forces my hand.

IOW, yes, it's a good sub.
