I bought the 2X8 awhile back. Everything is great about this product except how it sounds.  The digital artifacts are huge.
go over to the Audio Industry Discussion circle and you will see the discussion about my time with this card. It goes on forever but I had the card tested by a member and he confirmed what I found.
Its sitting on the shelf collecting dust, I will let it go for a very reasonble price

Well that's a shame. In hindsight, I suppose I could use a 2x8. I was looking at the 8x8, but after giving it some thought, I could do what I need to do with the 2x8.

But before I put money on one, I'd like to try Ryan's first. I can use his 2x4 to get a good enough feel for what it'll do for sound quality.

But give some thought about what you'd want for your 2x8, if you would.

I think for a sub xover these products would be fine.  I measured almost .5v at 50k on the output, which some will say (including the manufacturer) is way outside the audio band, and will not affect the sound. On the other discussion circle someone suggested just a simple cap filter on the output would help.  I never tried this.
When I triamped my rebuilt Maggy IIIa's I just found the upper mids and highs very harsh and thin.  I worked with the software alot (and its really cool how easy one can mold the freq response of each channel) but even though I tamed the highs they were still edgy.

The Behringer DCX2496 in the upper ranges has ("had") the same issues as well. Unpleasant to say the least, which is why I took it out and relegated it to <60Hz duty.

Unfortunately what my MiniDSP did to the bass was the most noticable part, and very bad of course.  Like I said, hammered shit top to bottom.
