I am seeing a number of these systems with the speakers set up within a couple of feet from the frontwall. Being dipolars should'nt these be set up in a similar manner to OBs, away from the frontwall about 4' or so? If not, why are they different? Thanks,Ed
Thanks for the replys guys. I certainly understand having to move speakers around for domestic reasons. I was just curious how the OBs were subject to negative effects when placed too close to the frontwall while the planers weren't. It sounds like most of you are running your planers out from the wall. Thanks again,Ed
JK ... You are correct the absorbers are indeed OC 703 – three of the absorbers are 4” centre one is 6” – the left corner is ‘Superchunked’ as are all corners in the room – diffusers are combination of T fusors/Q fusors – after much experiment with speaker placement AND front wall treatment finally settled on present arrangement.
Great job and impressive history – do you keep them company during the night?
