Only two responses to this?I saw it with my daughter on Sunday. It hooked me from the opening scene and the Trent Reznor score made sure I was paying attention. The best movie I've seen in years! The fact that my daughter is one year younger than Mark Zuckerberg helped as she could explain/fill in quite a bit of detail. She was at Purdue University and was an early Facebook participant. She said she remembered when it was called The Facebook.
Yes, great film. Real accomplishment, given the subject matter. Best Picture, though? I don't think so. They're going to try and sweep the Oscars and they might succeed which is unfortunate; True Grit for instance isn't getting much award buzz and neither is Inception - I consider both films as good as or better. Still, that David Fincher is a hell of a director.
The Social Network is getting a lot of buzz for the Oscars but it certainly does not hold a candle to The King's Speech.
I saw the trailer, and personally...i thought this movie was boring.A friend invited me to watch it on next friday, we'll see how it goes.
I didn't expect much but I found it pretty interesting. The substance of the story more than anything made it compelling. I thought Justin Timberlake would be a turn off but he played his part well.MINOR SPOILER ALERTI don't question Zuckerberg's motives or think that he was intentionally trying to screw anyone over, however everyone's position was justifiable and clear. These things happen when there's a lot of money at stake.
