Hi All!

My ear is getting better, it looks like the anti-fungal medicine is working! I listened last night for 2 hours and at times is was very pleasant!!

Drops until sunday then back to the ENT  for hopefully a its looking good ...go home and play!

I actually played with cables!

I have a set up Blue Jeans LC1's 1 metere I used from the Oppo to the Pre and the Pre to the Ultravalve.
I am not a real believer in high dollar cables etc, that said i got a deal on some very low capicitance cables and have been trying them out with the SongTowers and my setup.

I will report back on my findings once we are back to 100%.

All the best!

Hey!

Good news! Ear looks ok fine, there was some 'dead skin' on the eardrum from the fungal infection, the doctor took a vacuum tool and suctioned all of it he could remove. It didnt hurt a whole lot and this was on last monday and its getting better each day!

I listened last night for 2 hours and tonight for an hour and its sounding really great!

This has been a long 3 months! I actually ordered a new CD that I hope to start adding to the outstanding CD demo thread!

Good Ears + SongTowers + AVA Insight+ Pre + AVA Ultravalve = Magic!

All the best

Hi Alex.
About five (05) years ago, I was exposed for a few hours to high level of noise.
The effect, consequences and damage only started to show up about a year ago with a continuous high pitch whisling in my ears, now I wear ear plugs, but the five years ago high level of noise as made its damage, no return possible.
One piece of advice :
Don`t take for granted your good 30 years old hearing, it`s when you have lost it, that you will realize how important it was.

It has been a long road.   Glad to hear that it worked out well in the end. :thumb:

Hi Bob & Guy 13, thanks for the kind words....life in this world is not infinite for sure...

Guy I am sorry about your issue...and I can feel the pain of not being able to do something you really enjoy etc..

With all the crap about this gear and that gear, these tubes and those tubes, power cords how they attach to your audio stuff and one and on...we often forget the most precious transducer in the circuit of life: Our Ears!!

You loose the ability to hear, its over.

When you personally go thru things like this, albeit small compared to having cancer etc...it really made me think of the alternative....

All the best

Boy I'll tell ya - this is a great thread.  Sometimes its so easy to forget to appreciate the little things.  Currently I've got a ferocious cough, a head cold and plugged ears.  Not being able to hear at full capacity is awful, and this is just a cold!  Thank God you didn't suffer any permanent damage, Alex!

Yes Sir!!!

Listening now and am really enjoying the sound!! The Salks and the Ultravalve are making listening very wonderful again.

I am remodeling our master bathroom and I wear earplugs and take special care to keep crap out of those little jewels we have on our heads!!
