I really don't like cookie monster vocals. For example, I really start groovin to Lamb of God until he starts to sing and then I can help but cracking up laughing at them....they can't be serious.
That all depends on how you define metal. Some say Black Sabbath was the beginning of metal. For me, the defining line from hard rock to metal began with Judas Priest- Unleashed in the East in '79.I share your opinion on cookie monster vocals. I also like Sevendust but haven't had a chance to listen to too much of their music.
So what is some good metal that is more clean vocals or at least usage of growls is limited to crescendos?
