Hi all:

I want to buy a GPS for a road trip to Boston my wife is planning on starting next weekend. She has built in Nav in her Murano, but she's taking my van w/o nav. Magellan 1424 is a possiblility, would like lane change, voice, current software, 4.3" screen or larger etc. Read some of the older threads, just wondering if anyone has experience/tips/recommendations. TIA

This is a little late and you have already made your choice by now, but, having used both I recommend the Garmin.  My Garmin was stolen earlier this year so I decided to give the Magellan a try.  It's lane change feature IS cool but Garmin also offers it as well.  The main difference for me is the POI database in Garmin seems so much more robust.

I intend to buy a Garmin for the other car and I want to do road tests around the area to see which gives the best navigational directions.
