Regarding the boxes, when I got my LS-6's shipped from AV123 back in the day there was an inner and outer box.  The outer had the printing the inner was blank - I got a feeling that this is the situation with why the boxes don't have print on them...Glad to hear that H34 was found - horrible situation if otherwise!!

To Wendell,
I tried to answer your PM, but your inbox is full.

I have gotten several pm's from folks who want ls-6 cabinets. I am prioritzing the requests according to who responded first. However, if anyone can pick them up, they will go to the top of the list. I am going to look into shipping options next week. If anyone thinks they know the best way to ship, let me know as I have not tried to ship anything this size before. I also don't know what they weight yet.

AV123 shipped via YRC, when I ordered my empty LS6 cabinets.  It worked well, only cost me around $140 for both boxes.  They do not deliver to your door though (maybe they will for more $$?).

I went back and looked at my invoice.  Seems like I was using spouse math, and rounding down quite a bit.  Actual YRC shipping charges were $169.00.

Great news to hear that the amp was found, and even greater news to hear it was returned!

My LS6's had both an inner and outer box, but neither one said it was made in Columbia or China. Only my base boxes were actually printed on, the speaker outer box had the sticker that was checked Palisander and Rosa.

So I plan on routering my cabinets, my dad has a router and I have the time.

I'm hoping Danny comes out with a auction special kit price, with or without NoRez, and with or without port tubes. 9 sheets of the NoRez comes out to $342, so I probably will do it sometime in the future. It doesn't sound like a super expensive upgrade to the LS6, but it is 5 times what I paid for the cabinets.

All the LS's that I saw pictures of being delivered were crated. Example:

Correct for LS9.

For LS6, I believe they're not crated.

At least for the ones came from SAC.

The LS6 cabinets I got from AV123 were palleted.  Both were standing on end.  They were strapped and stretch wrapped to each other (one pallet) along with the box for the bases.  They weren't double boxed.  These are the China cabinets.  They were shipped YRC and I picked them up at the terminal.  IIRC, home delivery was an additional $100.

I picked them up with a 09 Tacoma - they both fit at once.

Thanks for the corrections guys. Were the LS6's on a custom pallet (matching the footprint of the boxes) or one of the larger pallets (like a 48"x40" GMA pallet).

The pallet mine came in on was square, IIRC.  The LS6 boxes are about 20"x24".  There was a bit of space (6-8"?) around the edges.  I think that's what you would want.  That space keeps them from being pushed up against other items during shipping, and with them on end nothing will get stacked on them.  ;)

Just use the plans for the OB-7 plus, minus the lower section.

Danny, is there anything that can be done to x-voce to get a better match to LS6's?
Something like a tweeter swap to a BG one, perhaps?
Or is it not that simple and would require a crossover replacement?

P.S. Even though, I've been mostly lurking at the AV###, AH and AC forums for 3+ years,
I do consider myself part of the community that started at the now-defunct's company forums.
I know a lot of people (nicknames) and a lot of history from reading the forums.

Well Sam, thanks for joining in.

That is correct.

It is also bigger in diameter and would never fit.

A friend had brought my 3 pairs of LS-6 cabinets from Longmont to Omaha. Last night I finally got to open the boxes. They are all Palisander Rosa Satin and I would consider them all A Stock. They are absolutely beautiful. The pair I thought was most beautiful (and my wife agreed) has a lot of swirls and also has some sapwood areas. I didn't get any tubes or bolts for the bases. However, one of the bases is diamond black so that is a little bit of a bonus. I took some pictures, but left the camera home today.

My cabs appear to be perfect as well with the round-over too.

What's the status on the LS6 build out driver/cross-over packages?

Sold out of the kits right now and have more drivers on order.

I received some LS-6 crossovers from the Auction.

If you order a kit with and take the pre-assembled crossovers that I got from the AV123 Auction then I will knock off $100.

What is the difference in the new crossovers?

What is the difference in the new crossovers?

The AV123 crossovers have all of the parts mounted on a circuit board and the bass management system is conveniently mounted on its own circuit board with a easy to move jumper.

the only difference in parts quality is that the AV123 crossover uses an Erse poly cap and low cost resistor in the woofer verses a Sonicap and a Mills resistor that is included in the kit if you get the unassembled crossovers.

The standard crossover is completely unassembled and must be point to point wired.
