That's a fact. Steelers are tough as hell. I'll cheer for the Packers but will enjoy both teams.
I know a bunch of you guys were kids in the 60's too. I enjoyed a bunch of football heroes as a boy from several teams - Steel Curtain, Purple People Eaters, Bears, Packers, Browns, and more. For whatever reason I chose Green Bay then.
Steelers vs. Packers will be a good old school match up to get into!

Culter didn't play well at all, and when your aren't playing well and behind on a cold day, injuries seem to hurt that much more. Why Collins was the backup is a mystery. He sucks and any Bears fan would know seeing his sorry ass performance against Carolina this year told you that this guy's best years are behind him.

It would have been nice to have given Hanie a chance earlier in the game, especially with the better field position earlier in the second half. Martz should be fired if he made the call Collins over Hanie. He also called a poor game offensively.

At this point, Jerry Angelo needs to go as well. Two first round picks for a qb, but you invest nothing into protecting your investment? Practice squad and seventh round guys are your starting offensive lineman?

Pathetic Angelo, your big $$$ signing guy was pretty much a non-factor. Sorry Peppers, your weren't the impact player in the big game for the $$$. Bears better go after Logan Mankins and another top offensive skilled position this year.(More line help, please)

Congrats to the cheese heads, Rodgers made the plays outside the pocket when needed to move the chains.

I need to take two tylenol pm followed by some NyQuil to get to sleep.

Steelers and Cheese Heads, should be good.

People getting blown to bits is "awesome". So is anything that looks dangerous and involves folks getting hurt. Whole reality TV shows are based on stuff where folks get hurt, on video, and it is called America's Funniest Home Videos. At least one other show of the same type is very popular. then the twenty something TV versions of people being hurt is funny also exist. It is an American pasttime.
I assume you are from New Zealand with the nz. So that is the American way.

Cutler has a job on his hands living down leaving the game. Of course, he was unable to continue but its gonna be controversial. Have to take my hat off to the Jets and Sanchez. To do as well as they did in the second half was amazing to me. A couple of plays and it might have been a different story. Big Ben's scrambling ability was a big plus for the Steelers. And to fly fisherman having posted above, helmut to helmut hitting is just plain asinine.

Hey fly fisherman wasn't the guy who thought the Peppers hit was awesome, that was my comment. For the record, I don't think the hit was intentional because Peppers was moving too quickly to control exactly where he hit Rodgers. Peppers is a clean player and played well enough to win the game. The Pack only scored two offensive touchdowns.

Rodgers showed amazing toughness on the play, but the guys in stripes seemed to go out of their way to help the Packers on that drive by giving the Pack the benefit of personal foul play and some questionable pass interference calls.

Also, outside of the first couple drives, I thought Rogers had a bad game. He had better step it up if the Pack hopes to have a chance to win the SB.

Rodgers game changed for the worse AFTER he got his bell rung seemed to me. If I noticed that, Pittsburg noticed that. Coach better mix in some no huddle, quick release plays to keep Pitt honest. GB needs time of possession (and points) and some takeaways to win. Think Pitt is better on both sides of the ball but the Jets were having success in the second half. I'm still in awe of that game.

I got home at 4:30 and watch the Bears/Packers on on the DVD speeding through the plays so I need to go back and watch it again to get a better feel for the flow. I didn't even notice when Cutler left the game.

The fumble/TD near the end of the first half killed the Jets. They made a great effort to overcome the deficit, and the goal line stand sure didn't help them either. In the end though, Big Ben was the difference most of the day with his ability to get yards with his feet or extending plays rolling out. The last play for a first down is a good example.

It would appear that Texas' rep for BIG, especially in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area is spot on for the Super Bowl.

I attended the Pittsburgh versus Dallas Superbowl held on January 28, 1996 in Arizona. The local atmosphere, days before the game, was charged with fan emotions and the fans were opening their wallets. The Steelers lost the game due to Neil O'Donnel throwing many interceptions to the Cowboys. What a downer!

I purchased the tickets with a friend on Saturday for $650.00 each. After the game I decided I was grateful for the experience of attending a Superbowl but it would be my last. A lot of people attending Superbowls are not fans of either team. Someone or some company gives them a ticket and they go purely because it is the Superbowl! True fans of the teams that are playing in the game have to pay through the nose for tickets to get in. So, no thank you I will not be going to future Superbowls. However, it would be fun to be in a Steelers Bar close to the game and party like crazy with Steeler Fans during and after the game!

David, Pittsburgh is a great town and would be a great spot for a rave. Hotels and restaurants are reasonable and there are lots of fun places to hang out and have fun. I miss going to the South Side and visiting the bars on Carson Street. Haven't been there in a couple years, and my memory is foggy but Pittsburgh is a fun place to visit.

If you guys think prices are high in Dallas this year, wait until NY hosts the SB (next year?). NY is another planet when it comes to high prices. If a NY team makes it to the game, hotels wont be a problem, ticket prices will. NY fans seem to have tons of cash, or at least they are willing to spend lots of money on tickets, and I bet they will drive prices into the stratusphere, if the Jets or Giants make the SB when the game is in Giants/Jets stadium. I hope one of the teams makes it to the SB in the home stadium!

I lost interest in football some years ago, for several reasons, the primary one of which was the increasing savagery. Most repugnant is that some players openly admit they try to hurt opponents.

Especially insidious are the hits that cause concussions. Because the horrible effects don't show up until years later, players repeatedly agree to put themselves back into danger, not realizing how seriously they are crippling themselves, or worse.

The NFL is, belatedly, making noises about trying to reduce the incidence of concussions, but not very effectively in my opinion. The penalties for causing a concussion should be much more severe. If I were the dictator over the NFL I would instantly suspend any player who causes a concussion, whether intentionally or not, whether it was a "clean" hit or not. The suspension would last until the victim was cleared to play, even if it was permanent. With such draconian rules I would expect a dramatic reduction in concussions.

Sure, such a rule would be "unfair" to the perpetrator who causes a concussion accidentally and unintentionally. But why should it be any less unfair than it is to the even more innocent victim. The purpose of the rule would not be to be fair in all cases (which is impossible) but to reduce the overall number of cases of serious injury, which would be more fair to more players in the long term.

Yes, I know nothing even close to that would ever happen because violence is too profitable which, in turn, is because the fans enjoy it. I also understand most fans think I'm nuts; I don't need to be told.

on Pittsburgh as a city. I believe it was again ranked as one of the most liveable, in one of the major polls.

I miss Pittsburgh as well. Lived there for a very happy five year period and received my masters from Carnegie Mellon.

Thought long and hard about driving down there (only a 4 hour trip) this weekend. Being in one of the local neighborhoods at one of the local bars with the game being played in Pittsburgh, and the after the win celebrations, would have been so much fun.

Decided against it for purely weather weather related issues. The cold, and having to deal with lake effect snow along the short, but sometimes treacherous stretch along Lake Erie.
