These games between these two are always fun to watch because you never know what is going to happen. ...Interceptions, Penalites, etc seem to decide the game.

pj, I agree with you on that call, mostly. Guess it was too far from the receiver for the refs to allow. Classic football drama, one or two plays going differently... :dunno:
My non sports fan sister feels there a lot of luck involved with who wins the close games.

Football is funny to try to watch sometimes.  While making dinner, I had the first half on.  Having seen that, when my girls asked to watch a movie, I figured sure, what would I miss...?

after the giants "facepalm" game, to come up one drive short of the superbowl was more than amazing and unexpected. congrats to the bears on a great season. and, ashamed to say, no fans in sports are worse than bears fans. take a peek at the bears message boards after the game if you don't believe me.

"no fans in sports are worse than bears fans." i don't want to look!
It's everywhere for sure, but high school sports in Indiana came to mini riots at times. I remember a few thousand of us stomping feet on those old wood fieldhouse seats, was super loud and shook the building...sometimes you had to make it to your car and get the hell out of there while the rocks came flying!

It's not even half time, yet I hear a heavenly voice singing "Turn out the lights, the party's over..."

It is now half time and I had to admit it but I hate the Steelers allowed the Jets to score those 3 points.  Anyway I certainly like the way my team has played the first half and hope they will show that same intensity for the remainder of the game.  I certainly like our chances to win!

I think the Jets need Frank Reich to win this.

Yeah, the Packers can start getting ready for the meet up with the Steelers. No way are the Jets gonna catch up. Halftime is just ending.

I'm sure Rex had a colorful chat with them too ...

That was a heck of a game for the Bears' 3rd string QB but in the end the Packers' defense prevailed.

The Jets are playing better in the 2nd half but they still have a long way to go.

2nd half was sloppy and the referees got more involved than I like to see.

Congratulations to the Packers and their fans for a hard fought victory.  I was pulling for the Bears but when Cutler left the game (with a sprained vagina) and they bought in Collins, I immediately started looking for something to throw at the TV.  Collins is completely washed up and did absolutely nothing (as he did in the other game he came in to back up Cutler).  I really like Haney (dispite his nasty mustache!) and was hoping they would have brought him in sooner.  He made a couple mistakes, which are not unexpected for a guy who got zero practice time with the first team all season), but he gave them a chance to win and made some really good throws.

Not going to talk about some of the questionable calls (that Peppers hit was awesome!) or the grounding call because those were out of the Bears' control.  Still wondering why the Bears called time-out, when they would have made the first down.

The Bears had enough time to run the ball on 3rd and 3 on that last drive, but they called a time-out and ran some goofy trick play that the Pack totally sniffed out.  In my opinion, Martz should be fired immediately and they team should allow Haney to challenge Cutler for starting QB position next year.  The Bears defense (and the fans!) deserve much more than Cutler gave them today.  Maybe he needs to to away and play for another team because he lacks the toughness to wear the same uniform as Walter Payton, Dan Hampton, Dick Butkus, and an army of other brave warriors who toughted  it out for YEARS on bad knees.  Cutler is a punk and I hope he has played his last game as a Bear.  Rex Grossman played better than this loser.

The Pack won fair and square but the Bear defense had Rodgers seeing stars in the second half.  Urlacher and Peppers were like wild animals in that second half and it's a shame they have to take a L for their efforts.

Cheers, and Go Pack!  The Packers have some of the best fans in the game and the nicest stadium I have ever  had the pleasure of visiting.  I hope it's the Pack versus the Steelers and, if it is, I'll root for the Pack.  They better play like the team from the first half of today's game in the SB if they hope to have a shot.

Sorry, but I didn't mean to count the Jets out.  One thing I've learned this year is to never count this team out.  Regardless of the outcome of today's game, this has been a miracle year for the Jets.  They have won more games, against good teams after being down (BIG) than any team I have ever seen.  They are young and tough and I expect to see them contend for years.

Cheers,

J
