Vick's night should sew up the MVP for Brady.
Whatever happens with the Giants this weekend, I would keep Coughlin. For one, he has one year left on his contract. For another, there is the whole CBA issue and the uncertainty it presents. And three, he is a very good coach. Sometimes good coaches have to go and it could be argued this is one of those times because the team seems unable to practice what Tom preaches. However, the Giants aren't one of those teams that react to the press or public opinion. There is also the injury problem this team has had to deal with most of the year. I would change a few assistant coaches though. Quinn at special teams is one for sure. It's been a disappointing season for the Giants who at times have shown the capacity to be dominant. Peaking in week 8 however doesn't get it done in the NFL. I still hold out hope the Giants will back into the playoffs but the Packers seem like a rising star while the Giants is falling. Perhaps they are unable to overcome the Eagles game hangover.
I think Giant's Ownership will make a well thought-out decision when it comes to keeping or releasing Coach Coughlin. At one point during the season I was confident the Giants would win the NFC East and possibly go to the Superbowl. I don't know what happened but I do know it took good coaching to have the team play that well. If ownership does let Coughlin go, who do you think they could hire to do a better job? Just look at what the Redskins did this year with their big name coach. He, He!
Well NY's other team, the Jets were able to back into the playoffs after losing a highly entertaining game for the Bears so it's still possible that the g-babies can back in also with a little help from the Chicago Bears beating Green Bay. And of course the g-babies need to crawl past Washington Redskins,,,,, I'd miss watching Coughlin's meltdowns on the sidelines myself so I hope he's not discarded but with 1 year left on his contract, if management has no desire to re-sign the guy, they might not bother waiting another year just to replace him. This weekend could be very telling,,,, Go Redskins & Packers. Cheers,Robin
Overall, this has been a very strange year in the NFL.
Agreed! Also, Lovie says he is playing all of the starters and intends to win this game against the Bears' arch rival but I'm not buying it. If past experience is an indicator of how they will play today, the Bears will rest starters at the half...and lose to the (fudge)Packers. I hope not because I hate GB!!!
So the NFC needs to go through Atlanta. They sure look good. The AFC sure looks screwed in the Big Game.... Go Saints,Jerry
I personally like the AFC's Chances in the Big Game! Go Steelers!Ken
