I was a little taken aback by it as well, but the Eagles and the NFL had nothing to do with it.  The City of Philadelphia postponed the game because of public safety concerns.  The players can play in any weather and the fans will sit through anything weather wise, I know, I'm a former Eagles season ticket holder.  But you could get quite a few people killed on the roads tonight driving in blizzard conditions.  So unless you think the death of another human being is inconsequential, perhaps you should keep your pathetic comments to yourself.  Just saying.

I love driving in the snow with a FWD car with snow tires. However, here in CT, the wind is howling -- and I mean HOWLING.  And it's been like this for the last 20+ hours.  It would be incredibly dangerous to drive because of the whiteout conditions.

Another very frustrating week of football for this Giants fan.

The Giants simply can't take care of the ball!!  All of these turnovers lead to very bad things and cause the team to be very inconsistent.

While the defense melted down in the second half (they let up 500+ yards of total offense for the first time in over 30 years), a big reason for the meltdown was the continued turnovers forcing the defense to stay on the field.  Due to the six turnovers, the Packers held the ball for over 15 mins more than the Giants!

I know that I am biased, but if the Giants could stop the turnovers, they would be one of the top teams in the league.  They have the most takeaways and have a balanced and strong offense.

Making the playoffs is out of the Giants control now, so all they can do is try and regroup and put a beating on the Redskins.  I can't see the Packers losing to the Bears (who will have nothing to play for), but you never know.

The Giants have given up 73 points in the last 5 quarters. This is reminiscent of last year when their defense couldn't stop anybody in the latter part of the season.

Ok Mr. Obvious, I think you have that phase of the game nailed.

Seriously tho, you are correct.  One of the annalists on NFL channel showed how you could track the leading teams by factoring the +/- ratio of two parameters, turnovers and what he termed "exceptional plays", that is plays over twenty yards.  I think it was something like 5 out of the top 6 teams had the highest plus ratio of these two parameters combined, with the always present exception that keeps us from bankrupting Vegas.

With the Giants, it's that they don't have heart.  They do have good players, but they lack that certain something that teams like, for example, the Eagles have.  I'm not sure if it's the coach or the quarterback, but I know it's in the area of leadership that the problem lies.

While your concern for public saftey is understood I stand by my comment (don't really give a hoot if you like it or not), in case you hadn't noticed it seems everybody wants the Gov't to 'babysit' our every action, what happened to being responsible  for ourselves........shall we say driving to the game in an appropriate vehicle, not getting drunk and acting like a complete idiot thus being incapable of handling a bad weather situation.......or stay home and watch it on TV ! Oh and if you think that storm last night was that bad .....please !

As far as the NFL not having a say...............you don't think they want to have their new SPCA poster boy showcased in better weather ??? .....just saying !

Regardless I can hope and pray that the Vikings win come Tue evening !

Really enjoyed the Rams and the Saints games this weekend and Monday night.  There is no quit in New Orleans.  Brees thru two IC's (one for 6 but one I don't think he will do again but one he managed to afford Monday night and against ATLANTA) and remained the man you want leading your team down the stretch to include Pierre Thomas, definitely.  When a yard mattered, oh yeah!  Sorry about the Giants as I think they're over.  Amazed that the Chargers lost to the Bengals.  Singletary's demise didn't surprise me.  Hated that it was so abrupt, tho.  Even if the 49's had won their conference (they wouldn't gave gone far in the playoffs), I think management had seen enough.  He just didn't have the experience regardless of not having the QB(s).  Green Bay and Atlanta should make for a hellova game!  But so, too, would New Orleans.  Don't expect Indy can beat the Pats but for sentimental reasons I hope they get the chance.  The Ravens are lookin very tough to me in that conference.  And, geez, what about Kansas City??  What a season!  Luv it.

Despite getting edged out the Falcons split with the Saints and still will likely win a first round bye and home field thru out the playoffs.  That's a pretty good dome-field advantage for them.  The Giants do look like they're in trouble...maybe they'll miss the playoffs entirely.

Vikes played good football. Did the Eagles have any incentive to win this game? They are already in the playoffs....if they'd won would they have had homefield advantage or something?

Eff'in Vikes!  Yeah, they're my team but winning games now is a bad thing- once you've missed the playoffs you're just thinking of the draft.  I suppose they'll really screw the pooch and win the last game too. :duh:
