Not a pretty win by the Giants last night, but I will take it.

Hakeem Nicks and Steve Smith were back and it looks like the Giants will be ready to battle Philly on Sunday for supremacy in the NFC East.

Hopefully the Giants will come out on top and this could be the beginning to their march to Dallas.

George

Smith pulled a hammy and is out this weekend.  Sintim tore an ACL.  Tuck hurt his ribs and Bradshaw his wrist again but both are expected to play.  Enough with the injuries!

This weekends game with the Eagles is huge.  It can mean winning the division or missing the playoffs.  I'm not feeling all that great about the way Eli is playing but some of that might be due to mixing his receivers again.  Diehl allowed a sack on his return.  Special teams didn't look very special either.  They were lucky on that block in the back call negating a TD.

But, I'm hopeful.  They really need to contain the Eagles big plays. Get to Vick early.  Run the ball!  Control the clock.  No turnovers!  Play Giant football.  Win.

Well, the Ravens should be thankful they called the coin toss for OT right, cause they would have gone home with a defeat and in shock otherwise.  Those of you who watched the fourth quarter of the Monday Night game, almost saw one of the most spectacular come backs ever.

I've watched 5 or 6 Texans games and they all have been the same as the game last night.  Fall behind by some significant margin, make a big comeback in the second half, lose in the last minute.  Other than the opener against Indy, they haven't done much this season from a win/loss perspective.

What did winning the coin toss have anything to do with it? After the kickoff they went 3 and out and punted. They won the game on an interception return for a TD. The Texans had their chance in OT.

Maybe I expect too much but I expect my favorite team, The Steelers, to kick some Jet butt this weekend and send them back to New York with their 3rd straight loss.  I would not be at all surprised to see the Jets allow the Colts back into the playoffs.

We have to of course modify your post to reflect what will actually happen, to wit:
They really need to stand by as the Eagles make big plays. Get Vick scoring early.  Run the ball for no gain!  Control the clock at halftime.  No turnovers after the Eagles score 40 points!  Play Giant football.  Lose.

Sorry...couldn't resist.  I should be punished now.   :duh:

:o   It will probably be some blend of the two versions.  I doubt the Eagles will score 40 though.  I'd like to see the Giants score 30 but I'm not holding my breath.

Cause if the Texans had won the toss, it would have been them with first possession.  They had done pretty well with their two previous possessions in case you hadn't noticed, instead of operating from their own 9 yard line.  Worst case, Houston couldn't take it to the end zone and had to punt, it's the Ravens who are backed up.

If you hadn't noticed on the Texans two previous possessions they started at their own one and five yard lines so starting at their 9 in OT was an improvement. They were backed up even more so in the 4th quarter and drove for TDs both times. They lost because they made a mistake, not by losing the coin toss.

Touche.  Of course, the coin toss didn't win or lose the game all by itself.  And it WAS Shaub's mistake that did.  Had Houston won the toss, the would have kept a tired Baltimore defense on the field.  Their chances are very much improved, IMO.

Pats, Pats, and Falcons. That about sums it up for now, the rest can hope for injuries to the aforementioned.

You're of course entirely correct.  It looks like another pick 'em game like the last one, coming down to a one or two play difference.  Should be another barn burner.  The NFL got at least one thing right in this season of idiocy, scheduling most of the division games for the end.

Don't count out the Eagles representing the NFC and for that matter one still has to consider NY Giants and the Saints, beyond that the NFC sucks and the NFC West might just be the worst division I have ever seen.

Looks like Mikey Vick's PR agent is still busy at work trying to clean up the dog killer's image, all part of Operation 2nd Chance.  :deadhorse:

NEWS LINK= The Eagle's Mikey Vick wants to get a dog.

Pleeeeeze, give me a break.   That's like leaving Kobe Bryant alone with the baby sitter.   I really wonder if this move will work for him or against him, but I'm sure there will be something said about it by the Pet Abuse organizations. Me, it just makes me laugh as I see it as strickly a PR image move, coming from his agent no doubt. More power to him if he pulls it off. But I'm not buying it for one second.

I'm not sure how a judge has a right to bar him from dog ownership for life.  Yeah, I know what he did but it seems like another area of governmental overreach to me.  That said, I think it's a little early for him to get "therapy" thru dog ownership. :nono:

I don't see where it's any different than barring a sex offender from being with in 500' of a school. But that said, money and fame has a lot of power in todays society and I can easily see another judge overturning that and Mikey getting another dog for the sake of repairing his image. But I wonder if it would only hurt his image to even go there and stir up the pot so to speak. I think the best thing Kobe has done to repair his image has been to keep a low profile and do what he does best,,, basketball.

I think the best thing Mikey could do for repairing his image is keep a low profile and distance himself from what got him in trouble in the 1st place,,, at least til he's retired from football and the public eye. Any dog talk from Mikey will just keep his situation fresh in the minds of the public. But it just makes me laugh that he would even go there.

Well, Vick has done a good job up til now keeping the focus on the fact that he's playing QB at an elite level.  I think he'll take the Eagles fairly deep into the playoffs.  Although I think Atlanta & Nawlins are the teams to beat.

This weekends matchup Philly@ Giants should be a good indicator of the playoff picture. Being that I hate both of them NFL East teams (natural enemies for Cowboy fans  ), I'm neutral but I hope they beat each other up real good.
