I'm tired of the Michael Vick can't get hit stuff today. The guy was in bounds along the sideline when he was hit. He could have cut out two yards sooner and not been touched but chose to try to get as many yards as possible. Sorry, but he's a just another guy with the ball then. That hit was fine IMO. If the Dback pulls off and Vick tip toes down the sideline for another five yards the defensive coach would be all in his face.

The only hit that I saw that was illegal was the helmet to helmet hit, which was flagged. Even that was close but correctly called.

They didn't call the out of bounds hit (or nearly out of bounds hit) so what are you tired of? It was a close call and the ref did not throw the flag. I thought it was borderline and difficult to see, even in slow motion. Don't kid yourself, if the QB getting hit was named Brady, Manning, Breese, or Favre you bet your life the ref would have tossed the little yellow hankee.

The helmet to helmet hit was legit (at least the one that I saw) and I don't think a flag was thrown. I believe two guys hit Vick in the head on that play without a flag. Either way, that was a tough game last night. Vick is not a big guy and it's obvious teams are trying to soften him up or knock him out. I don't expect teams to let up, this is NFL football. Hopefully, the officials will call the game in line with the rules. That's all anyone can ask.

The new rules are frustrating for me, as a fan, because they make the game almost impossible to officiate. The out of bounds hit on Vick is a good example. It was difficult to tell if he was in or out in slow motion, let alone full speed. How can defensive players make that call when they launch their bodies at opponents to make a play? I don't want to see guys hurt but the league has to come up with a better system.

When it comes to Mikey Vick getting hit regardless of the circumstance, I wonder how many dying dogs did he show any sympthy for? Second chances are great and all but when it comes to a pet killer, I personally find some sense of justice each and every time someone smacks that guy and I find very little room for good call/bad call sympathy considering the amount of money that pet killer's taking home. When it comes to Mikey Vick, the ref can swallow that flag AFAIC.

Damn good game last nit btw after an afternoon of televised stinkers.

The Giants-Vikings game will re-air on NFL Network and will be available to watch free on NFL.com beginning at 12:00 midnite ET.

Robin, being a Cowboy fan has made you bitter.

There is no excusing Vick's crimes. I love animals and have two dogs that are spoiled rotten but I believe in redemption and forgiveness. Maybe Vick can serve as an example to other people trying to get their lives on track. He did hard time and lost millions as a result of his crimes and appears to have learned a lesson.

Time will tell.

PS - you are in good company. I know several people who have your opinion. As an animal lover, it's easy to understand your point of view.

I am huge dog lover and find what transpired appalling and disgusting, but Vick paid his debt and is entitled to move on. In this case, that means being given a second chance to work in his chosen industry.

I have no problems with Vick getting a second chance. My only ask is that he uses this second chance to not just succeed at his job, but to also enlighten and educate others. By all accounts I have read, this is what is happening.

The game is on channel 710 for those with DirecTV and the football package.

I realize the sideline hit wasn't flagged but all day on espn and the nfl network that is all they talked about. They said if it had been Manning or Brady it would have been flagged and they need to protect Vick in this case. I say he gets hit if he is out of the pocket just like any other ball carrier. That is all. Vick puts himself in situations where there is a good chance of a hard tackle. If Reid doesn't like that, keep him in the pocket.

And I'll also stand behind my personal feelings about Mikey Vick. The SOB can't be hit hard or cheap enough for my liking!

Everyone is entitled to an opinion about Vick. I hated him before and during the whole dog episode. Maybe I'm a sucker for sEcond chances. God knows I've benefitted from my share.

Robin, I hate Michael Vick for the dog fighting but I take comfort knowing it cost him 18 months in jail plus more than 100 million dollars. For dog lovers like us it is hard to forgive Vick but based on our legal system he paid for his crimes. I believe he is on a very tight and short lease by the NFL Commissioner. Vick is much more talented than most NFL Quarterbacks and deserves to be treated the same as all other quarterbacks. If anyone should be upset at the Refs it is Steeler Fans like me. The Refs have been allowing defensive players to maul Big Ben because of his strength; however, a hit to the head of the quarterback is a hit to the head regardless of who the quarterback is!

Not a pretty win by the Giants last night, but I will take it.

Hakeem Nicks and Steve Smith were back and it looks like the Giants will be ready to battle Philly on Sunday for supremacy in the NFC East.

Hopefully the Giants will come out on top and this could be the beginning to their march to Dallas.
