In the past it was well known that the hair is part of the uniform and therefore fair game.  He should do it up in a Princess Leia bun or some cute lil' pigtails he can't handle getting tackled by it.

Two or three years ago the NFL Owners wanted to restrict player's hair length due to concerns about safety.  The players got the union involved as they felt it was their right to have hair of any length they chose.  The NFL said okay to the hair but also said it would be legal to tackle a player by pulling the hair.

I personally think their are too many penalties against defensive players (in the name of safety).  If a player wants to wear his hair flowing out beneath the helmet then if he ends up with a bald spot then too bad for him.

I missed-out on the previous discussion about celebrations.  I think a celebration of a touchdown, without props, is a natural reaction of the players and from my view a part of the game.  However, I do not like any taunting as I feel it has no place in the game.

As I wrote in an earlier post I am getting tired of the rules in the NFL.  They should put a skirt on the quarterbacks and a sign on them to say you cannot touch me.  It seems to becoming the same with the receivers.  This is not the game I have watched and loved for 45 years.

You know, we've seen some remarkable turnarounds From perennially bad teams this season.  Cleveland, St. Louis, Buffalo, etc.  But, the one that blows my mind the most is Detroit.  They are playing with such pride and passion.  They are leading New England by 11 points right now and are getting to and hitting Brady often and hard.  I wouldn't bet on them winning but they are darn sure fighting on both sides of the ball.  And this with their backup QB.  Can't help but admire what I'm seeing.  Go Lions!  Whoops, NE just scored.  Keep it interesting fellas.

What a fiasco in Tennessee :D.  Happy Thanksgiving, all.

Almost.  Almost the Pokes got a win tonite.  In the end, they just didn't quite have the metal, IMO, yet they did very nearly win that sucker outright.  And it was against the Saints!

Afterthought bout Dallas and New Orleans.  If Williams hadn't gotten the ball stripped, that game was over and Dallas wins impressively.  Jason Garrett may have told his team that this game was, while a fluke of a loss, a confirmation of themselves.  Something to rally behind.  That they should feel good about it instead of bad :thumb:

Tonite the Cowboys performed a "jock check" and found they had a pair!  Even though they lost they fought like hell and really laid a whupin' on the Saints.  If Dallas plays the rest of the season like they played the second half of today's game they're gonna spoil a few teams playoff plans. :thumb:

Considering they were a pre-season pick to reach the Super Bowl you could say 8 teams already spoiled their playoff plans.

Bears!  Is this team for real or did it just look that way?  They played their best game of the year and I was sickened by the announcers continually making excuses for Philly's inability to play well enough to win.  Could it be the Bears just did some good things on both sides of the ball?

Also, is Julius Peppers a human being or is he really some kind of monster?  That guy chased down Vick and generally made his life miserable all day.  It's a good day to be a Bears fan!

Cheers!

J

PS - I agree regarding the hair.  If these guys want to have really long dreds, they shouldn't complain when guys use them as handles to tackle them.

Da Bears!  Damn, they rocked!  Loved it!

Tennesee scored 0 points.  Gotta be some discord between the owner and the head coach.  With Collins hurt, did coach tank the season dimissing the mentally unhinged starting QB?  Could this have some reprecussions beyond this season for coach?

The Bears game proves the sun shines on a dog's ass occasionally.  So can't someone grab a mirror and redirect that slop toward the Vikings? :P

I do not mean to be a typical bitching fan but I certainly hope the Steelers can reduce the penalties.  They are just killing drives and shooting their selves in the feet!  Unless they play better next Sunday night it will be ugly for we Steelers Fans.

It was nearly impossible to find anyone who picked the Bears this weekend. I joked about it but was secretly expecting the Iggles to blow them out.

Soldier Field's turf looked like a cow pasture and I expect the groundskeepers to perform similar magic for the rest of the home games.  The Pats are coming here in a couple weeks so we will betrayed again. Strange year because there are very few dominant teams. Those chargers looked pretty good last night.
