It's funny, in their respective championship game both the Steelers and the Packers offenses were shut down in the second half.

This is what adds to the excitement of this game!  Both teams have looked dominant and really bad at times.  Also, don't think Rodgers' recent concussion problems have been forgotten by the Steelers' defenders.  I know of at several Steelers who would gladly take a 15 yard penalty and a fine for a chance to face the Packer's backup QB instead of Rodgers.  The Steelers' defense has led the league (or at least has been in team photo of leader) this year for dirty shots.  Rodgers' better have eyes in the back of his head because they will be gunning for him.

Still, I'm going with the Packers.  It should be a fun game to watch!

Several posts have referred to "Pittsburg." It's Pittsburgh.

The very best debates I've seen about the game occurred this morning on ESPN's First Take.  A lot is being made of Pouncey, Pittsburgh's center who will not play, and without him the Steelers will lose the battle with Green Bay's nose tackle for control of the inside line.  Another wrinkle, Matthews will line up on the right side instead of the left side against big but slow Flosell Adams.  But, big but, on the other side, Pittsburgh will shut down the run and tee off on Rodgers.  I'm thinkin turnovers will result.  Boy, I can't remember being as excited to see a game.  The media has succeeded in hyping it up, I suppose, beyond anything.

I agree Jim, except the Flosell part, he's much more agile than people give him credit for.  But as much as I love my Steelers, I see it 21-0 GB by halftime.  Pittsburgh will catch up in the second half, but not by enough.  I don't expect to be toasting a seventh Lombardi at game end.

Nobody catches up better than Rothlisberger.

I am not a huge football fan, but I will catch a portion of this game for sure.

Green Bay is closer to me, but my hockey instincts tell me that I want to root for PB.

Actually, since my brother is a die hard Packers fan from the late 70's, I will root for PB!

Will the Packers be the better indoor team?

I like the Pack, close.  Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers have been finding ways to win the big games this year, and the Packers, if they hit him, need to make sure they put him on the ground.  But I think Rodgers, his throwing accuracy, and his receiving corps will key the Packers win.

I don't think I'll live long enough to see a worse half-time act than that  :?

It probably will sound better once you listen to it re-played on an MP3 player.

I'm rooting for the referees.  They determine who will win.
